The New Church on Berkeley Pass

Welcome, friends! We are glad to be a part of this neighborhood. As we build our church here, we hope we can minister to, not only those on Berkeley Pass, or in our local Millenium Village, but in the entire Fortune City community. . . and the world as well! We have a vision. The Word of God says His people perish for lack of vision. I, as Pastor of Faith Word Online Church, don't want to perish! And I don't want my neighbors to perish either. So, I pray you will join me in this vision.
You may wonder how there can be such a thing as an "online church." In Christianity, the term "church" has a two-fold meaning:

The local church (which we see as buildings where people go to worship)

The universal Church (all true believers in Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior, and the Son of God, past, present, and future, throughout the world).

Therefore, ministry, whether conducted in a physical building or by any other medium is the work of the church. Faith Word Online Church has no physical building (other than my house, from which I conduct my ministry's web ministries). Faith Word Online Church is a part of Faith Word Ministries, a non-profit teaching ministry. Since Faith Word Online Church is not a physical building, it has no "congregation," except those who visit these pages for teaching. It has no membership from which to receive a tithe to offset ministry expenses. Therefore, we welcome ministry partners who prayerfully consider Faith Word Ministries and Faith Word Online Church as good ministry ground to plant seed offering in. [gears] Of course, big things start small. We are laying the foundations of this church, and building up the walls. The physical structure will be to the glory of God and the service of man. In order for our church to be strong, it must be built on a firm foundation. Our foundation is Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing, and the Word of God.

PREACHING

Of course, the heart of church ministry is preaching the Word of God, and that is one of our primary goals and tasks. I call it a "task," but it's not really. Here at Faith Word Online Church, the preaching of the Word is a joyous challenge. What makes it a challenge is to make the Word of God known and understood by our "hearers." As we seek for the Holy Spirit's guidance, inspiration, and illumination, we will be true to His leading. It's also a challenge because, at Faith Word Online Church, we do not dillute God's Word in favor of so-called "political correctness." If the message we preach, as it comes from the Bible and the Spirit, is offensive to some, we say, "So be it!" The Bible, itself, says that the preaching of the Gospel is foolishness to those who perish! So check out our sermons.

[window] (See the folks in the windows, busy at work, building the church? I wonder if they know we are watching them? Probably not . . . they're too busy and hard at work. The work of building this church is an anointed endeavor, and no time will be wasted looking out the windows.)

TEACHING

Another ministry is teaching. Actually preaching and teaching go hand-in-hand with my pastoral role. But, like any other church, there will be a "religious" education ministry. I put "religious" in quotes because we won't be teaching "religion." But that's what it is generally called and most well-known by. Religion, in our way of thinking, is man's attempt to reach God. We believe that in true Christainity, God has reached out to man through Jesus the Christ. So, we are not a religion or religious organization, according to our definition. But, this is the titular word used in our world. We will teach Christian discipleship to believers and the Gospel to unbelievers.

[bible] Of course, the heart of all our preaching and teaching is the Word of God, which we believe to be fully inspired by God and perfectly appropriate for guidance in all matters related to faith and life. We believe it is entirely without error in its original languages and has, for the most part, been fully preserved by the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
